RESULTS UK have been accepted to a position on the Coordinating Committee of the UK Action for Global Health network.
Action for Global Health (AfGH) is a network made up of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) from across Europe which have experience in international development and/or health. The aim of the network is to bring European NGOs together in combined advocacy activities calling for European governments to support developing countries in achieving better health for the world’s poor. Action for Global Health’s work focuses on broad health and health systems issues with a priority on the quantity and quality of development assistance for health and acceleration of progress towards all the health MDGs.
In the current landscape of UK NGO networks, Action for Global Health takes an approach of integrating horizontal, health systems concerns and targeted, disease-specific concerns and applying issues relating to these to aid volumes and aid effectiveness.
Through a role on the Coordinating Committee, RESULTS UK will have the opportunity to provide input into the strategic direction and work streams of the network in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for RESULTS UK to build on our global health advocacy and to ensure that our particular work on TB and HIV is framed accurately within the global health debate.
