NGOs call for currency transaction levy to raise money for the poor

RESULTS was one of 19 organisations that today called on the G8 to implement a currency transaction levy to close the financing gap for global health and development.

A tax of just 0.005% on the global currency trading markets could raise an additional $40-60 billion for development each year.
